Baldwin County Superintendents’ Red Ribbon Leadership Awards Kickoff Event and Information Meeting

Each fall, Red Ribbon Week is celebrated across America to promote the importance of a healthy, drug-free lifestyle among our youth. Each year, outstanding students from Mobile and Baldwin County are selected as individuals who exemplify the 6 pillars of Character promoted by the Character Counts initiative and the Drug Education Council. These include trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.

We encourage each school to choose a Red Ribbon leader. These student leaders are honored at our Superintendents’ Red Ribbon Leadership Kickoff events held in Mobile County and Baldwin County each September.

At the Kickoff Events, students, parents, and educators learn about the history of Red Ribbon Week and why it is such an important prevention program, and also receive instructions for the community service projects each student will be asked to complete.
